Career Season!

Its that time of the year again!

The Career Fair is next week in the BJC and there are TONS  of networking events coming up.  

The Business Student Council is hosting an "Are You Smarter Than a Company?" event on Monday Feb 6th at 6:00 pm in 110 Business Building.  There will be SEVEN companies in attendance and SEVEN Smeal Student Organizations!  

There will be light refreshments and a great opportunity to network!

Welcome Back to Happy Valley!

Happy 2012 everyone!

We had a great turn out at tonight's meeting, thanks for coming!

 "Are You Smarter Than a Company?" Event is on February 6th 6:00pm in 110 Business Bldg and the Grand Prizes were announced!

1st place: $300, 2nd place: $200, 3rd place: $100 in student organization funding from Smeal!

Corporate Recruiters from TARGET and Johnson & Johnson will be participating.
A great way for your organization to network with recruiters and get an opportunity to receive some funding!  Student org RSVPs are due January 15th

Our Smeal Apparel is in the process of being ordered and we will be selling Smeal shirts and sweatshirts in the Business Building Atrium this semester.  Keep an eye out!

BSC into a new year!

The new Executive Board would like to wish everyone good luck on their final exams this week and a very happy holiday break!

We are looking forward to hit the ground running next semester.  Our first general meeting for Spring 2012 will be on Monday January 9th in 007 Business.

We'll also be at the HUB Involvement Fair on Jan 9th between 10am to 4pm, so feel free to stop by!

IMPORTANT MEETING UPDATE

Monday, November 14th the BSC General meeting will begin at 6:30pm in 007 Business

This is to allow BSC members to attend the Business Round Table (BRT) meeting on Monday, November 14th in at 5:30pm 120 Business. All BSC members are encouraged to attend the BRT meeting! Meeting Minutes: 10/24/11

Our THON chairs thanked everyone for coming to the 5k. We had a presentation from our Thon liasons. We discussed the Four Diamonds movie night which is 10/26 in 100 Thomas at 9 pm. 100 days 'til THON is coming up on November 9th. We discussed posters for BSC Thon and cards for Caleb. We carved our pumpking this weekend! Please vote for BSC tomorrow October 26  in the Smeal atrium!

If you are taking Marketing 301 we are having our study group tomorrow October 26 at 8pm in the Business Building.  Questions can be directed to Bhavya (bom5125@psu.edu) or Will (wto5010@psu.edu)

Meeting Minutes: 10/17/11

Meagan presented on our Smeal Apparrel Sale. We reviewed our Smeal shirts. We had to change our t-shirt logo, it is the PSU vertical and Smeal Horizontal with the S sharing. the back will remain the same.

Saron and Cassy reported on Thon. The FT5K is this Sunday October 23. If you still want to run submit your info by Friday October 21 and make sure you credit BSC! Go to www.thon.org for more information.

We discussed the PUMPKIN CARVING contest. Marissa has the pumpkin in her possession and Meagan is going to send Allison, Wei, Liz and Kelly an email for more information on carving.

We have decided to partake in the Student spotlight which, like the faculty spot light will draw from students in various student organizations.

Tech-tern: Evan has been working on facebook, check for updates and various events.

Yearbook: Briana talked about the yearbook and our improvements.

We discussed our study groups. Bhavya reported on its success. The next one will be for Marketing 301 on this coming Wednesday. If you have any questions or want to help please let me know and I will put you in contact with Bhavya and Will.

Faculty Senate: The Credit bill is going to the senate floor. She did mention the fact that the recommended academic plan for Smeal is only 13 for the first semester. The senate felt this could be dealt with in implementation.

Dray is working hard on Are you Smarter than a company. We have set a date for Tuesday, November 15th at 7'oclock. Location to be decided.
